Set off on a remarkable 3 days journey from the lively city of Casablanca to the captivating dunes of Merzouga. Travel through Morocco’s diverse landscapes, from the lush Middle Atlas mountains to the vast, golden sands of the Sahara. Begin your journey early from Casablanca, heading south towards Merzouga, a small village located at the edge of the Sahara Desert, near the stunning (Erg Chebbi dunes). Along the way, pass through the scenic (Middle Atlas Mountains), with a stop in "Midelt" for a traditional lunch and a quick rest.
Continue on through the (Ziz Valley), where you'll enjoy panoramic views of palm groves and ancient kasbahs, before reaching **Erfoud**, known as the Gateway to the Sahara. Explore the town's fossil workshops and discover how fossils and marble are expertly carved into intricate souvenirs.
Arriving in Merzouga by late afternoon, meet your camel driver and embark on a magical camel ride into the dunes to witness the sunset. Afterward, check into a traditional Berber-style desert camp where you'll enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, local music, and spend the night in a private tent under the stars.
Begin with breakfast at the camp before heading out on a guided tour of the Erg Chebbi dunes, the tallest in Morocco. Visit a Berber family to experience their culture, share traditional tea, and learn about desert life.
Next, explore the abandoned village of Mfis and the old kohl mine before heading to Khemliya to enjoy the soulful sounds of Gnaoua music. Savor a traditional desert lunch, such as tagine or Berber pizza cooked in the sand.
In the afternoon, enjoy a "4x4 excursion" or continue your camel ride to explore the vast desert. Return to camp by sunset for a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by local music and storytelling.
On your final day, depart early from Merzouga and begin the drive back to Casablanca. Along the way, stop in Beni-Mellal, nestled between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountains. Take a break and explore the town, with the opportunity to visit the Ain Asserdoun springs or enjoy lunch with views of the Atlas Mountains.
Continue your journey back to Casablanca, arriving by evening, concluding your unforgettable desert adventure filled with rich landscapes, deep cultural experiences, and lasting memories.
