Your adventure begins with an 8:00 AM departure from Marrakech, heading towards Ouarzazate through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. Stop at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient architecture and cinematic history. Continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can visit film studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Journey through the scenic “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” before arriving at the picturesque Dades Valley for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, travel through the oasis town of Tinghir, enjoying stunning landscapes along the way. Explore the dramatic Todra Gorges, a favorite spot for rock climbers. Then, continue your journey to the desert town of Erfoud, famous for its fossil markets and dates. Upon reaching Merzouga, embark on a camel trek across the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a magical evening at a desert camp with traditional Berber music around a campfire under the starlit sky.
Wake up early to witness an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, ride camels back to Merzouga and start the journey toward Fes. Pass through Rissani, the historical birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, and the stunning Ziz Valley, filled with palm groves. Stop for lunch in Midelt before continuing through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you might spot Barbary monkeys. Arrive in Fes in the evening and check in at your hotel or riad.
Dedicate the day to exploring the rich history and culture of Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city. Discover the medieval medina, visit the renowned Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, and admire the intricate designs of Medersa Bou Inania. Stroll through vibrant souks, see the famous tanneries, and explore the artisan quarters before returning to your accommodation.
After breakfast, depart for Meknes, another imperial city known for its grand monuments. Visit Bab Mansour, Lahdim Square, and the impressive Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, where you’ll explore well-preserved mosaics and historical structures. Then, drive through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen. Enjoy an evening wandering through its charming streets and spend the night in a traditional riad.
Enjoy a relaxed morning exploring Chefchaouen’s picturesque medina, vibrant souks, and panoramic viewpoints. Later, depart for Tangier, marking the end of your incredible 6-day journey through Morocco.
